Dr Natasha Papazafeiropoulou

Mindfulness Teacher, Coach and Speaker

Dr Natasha Papazafeiropoulou studied computer science and gained an MSc in information systems at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She worked at the European Union in Brussels as technical trainee in computing and did her PhD at Brunel University in London. Since then she worked as researcher and academic in the UK in the domain of information systems and in particular in the area of organisational decision making related to information technology. She has a lot of publications in international conferences and academic journals.

In 2004 she became familiar with Buddhist mediation at the West London Buddhist center. In 2011 she took part in the mindfulness teachers certification programme at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) where she was introduced to Vipassana/insight meditation and was certified as mindfulness facilitator by the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center (MARC) from the same university. She has participated in a number of long silent retreats in the Buddhist and non-Buddhist thought out the world.

Since 2011 she teaches mindfulness meditation in big organisations and institutions. More specifically she has been introducing mindfulness practices and office yoga exercises to employees at the European Commission and the European Parliament in Brussels. She has given key note talks on mindfulness at work at Merck pharmaceutical, and has taught programs on mindfulness for academics and administrators at Copenhagen Business School and Brunel University. She has also taught mindfulness in the Asian market for companies in the retail and computer electronics sector in Taiwan. She has done a lot of presentations in relevant conferences and she supervises doctoral students in their research on the use of mindfulness against information overload. She has a number of popular publications in the area of information overload and the use of mindfulness techniques to eliminate its negative consequences. In 2016 she got certified as yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance, while in 2017 she was also certified as Face Yoga teacher with the Face Yoga Method by Fumiko Takatsu.

She is a member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association and she teaches world- wide to groups and individuals in countries such as The United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, The United Sates, Taiwan and recently in her native Greece where she lives and works since 2017. She is particularly active in teaching yoga/mindfulness retreats in the Greek islands.
